Return to activity

Return to activity is a graded process. CDC guidance says to follow a healthcare provider's instructions and to reduce activity if symptoms worsen.

Progression is not a race

CDC HEADS UP describes a six-step return-to-sports progression, with each step taking at least 24 hours and a step repeated or paused if symptoms return. This is educational information; a healthcare provider determines readiness.

School and work belong in the record

Written restrictions, modified workload, breaks, reduced screen exposure, and the date those accommodations changed help show function over time. California Education Code §49475 addresses concussion protocols for school athletics; the current statutory text should be read directly for the applicable setting.
